Food Distributions
Folks may visit twice per week and may choose among all locations which they visit. They will join a car queue and when it’s their turn, volunteers will provide pre-packed food boxes without requiring person to person contact. There will be a bike or walk-up option as well. We stand united against anti-Asian hate and violence. We stand with the families of those killed in Georgia and with all who have experienced anti-Asian hate, violence, discrimination and oppression.
Our collective work will not be done until all Asian-American, Pacific Islanders, Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and all people of color can live without fear and without experiencing oppression and discrimination. Violence directed at people of color is the outcome of white supremacy. We all must work to interrupt and dismantle structural racism.
To learn more about the tragic increases in Asian-American Pacific Islander hate and what we can do, please visit stopaapihate.org.
Bellingham Food Bank believes black lives matter.
We recognize that structural racism benefits the dominant white culture and disadvantages people of color.
We believe that hunger is unacceptable and that racism is interwoven in our food system and is a root cause of hunger.
We must work for racial justice and equity. Bellingham Food Bank is committed to doing work to be an anti-racist organization.
We will educate ourselves and our community about structural racism. We will listen to people of color. We will be the strongest allies and advocates we can be.
